We would like to welcome our new General Manager, Karen Dollery, who recently joined our wonderful team at the Viking Hotel Waterford.
Karen comes into the role with a wealth of experience in the hospitality industry. Karen’s working life began in Dooly’s Hotel, a hugely successful wedding venue in Birr, as front office manager. After 7-years in Birr, Karen moved to the Talbot Hotel Wexford for 3-years, working for Bert Allen and Des Petitt as Deputy GM, before making the move to Stillorgan Park Hotel in Dublin, for the Petitt family.
In Stillorgan, Karen led the Guest Relations Department and progressed to Deputy GM, and was involved in all aspects of the operations, including the successful transition to a Failte Ireland 4-star hotel.
In 2005, Karen joined the Quality Hotel Waterford under the Choice Hotels brand, which was later rebranded in 2006 as the Waterford Marina Hotel, under the Lyne Group.
Throughout her time in the industry, Karen took up a variety of roles across front of house, including Deputy GM and finally GM. Karen has always been known as ‘a people person, and likes to treat those she meets as part of the family’.
We are delighted to welcome Karen to the Viking Hotel Waterford, part of the PREM Group, and know her wealth of experience and expertise leaves our customers in great hands. “I moved to the PREM Group in 2020 after working in Waterford for over 15 years. I am looking forward to working with the team in the Viking Hotel Waterford, aiming to enhance our already excellent guest relations, make new friends in this particularly difficult time, and face these challenges together.”
