Spooky Tunnel

The Greenway in Waterford is a fantastic amenity for all the family all year round. The Greenway is 46 km cycling and walking trail which is enjoyed by visitors and locals alike. At Halloween the famous Ballyvoyle Tunnel is transformed into a ‘spooky tunnel’. This year it runs from the 25th -31st October and is certainly worth a visit. With different coloured lights and ‘scary things’ all the way through it is not for the faint hearted!

Spooky Express

Suir Valley Railway is a is a train ride which takes in some stunning scenery starting from Kilmeaden and running along the banks of the river Suir and offers beautiful views of the famous ‘Mount Congreve Gardens’. At Halloween the period carriage turns into the ‘Spooky Express’. This year it takes place on the 26th October. Families can hop on the express train for 30 minutes in the dark of night for lots of Halloween fun along the way. Pre-booking is essential. Wicked Woods- takes place at ‘The Greenway’ at WIT Arena. Wicket woods is run by Spraoi; Waterford’s International Street Festival. It’s a Halloween experience suitable for all the family. This year it takes place over the 25th, 26th and 27th October from 6-9pm each evening with a special matinee for younger kids on the Saturday from 2-4.30pm. The experience takes approximately 30 minutes and includes Halloween sound effects, creatures and live performances. There are single and family tickets available. House of Horrors

Waterford is home to the House of Horrors at Halloween. The House of horrors is for Adults and kids and runs from Friday the 25th – Wed 30th October. It is 10,000 sq ft of ‘dark corridors, tunnels, theme rooms and scares’. It includes the horror express train of terror and some new additions such as the demons den, haunted barn and the swamp’.
