The Greenway is a spectacular off road trail stretching 46km long. It’s perfect for walks, cycles and outdoor adventures. Enjoy a journey through time and nature. The Viking Hotel Waterford is in close proximity of the Waterford Greenway as well as many other cycling routes making it the perfect location for a weekend of adventures and cycling. We have designated bike storage onsite called the ‘Greenway Hub’. The Hub is equipped with bike racks where guests can secure their bikes during their stay.

Mount Congreve House & Gardens

Only a 7-minutes drive from the Viking Hotel Waterford, in Ireland’s Ancient East, is one of “the great gardens of the World”. Mount Congreve House was home to six generations of Congreves, built in 1760 by the locally celebrated architect John Roberts. Planted on a slight incline overlooking the River Suir, Mount Congreve’s entire collection consists of over three thousand different trees and shrubs, more than two thousand Rhododendrons, six hundred Camellias, three hundred Acer cultivars, six hundred conifers, two hundred and fifty climbers and fifteen hundred herbaceous plants plus many more tender species contained in the Georgian glasshouse.
