House of Waterford Crystal

One of Waterford’s most popular visitor attractions the Waterford Crystal Visitor Centre is a must see!

Take the guided tour of the factory and learn all about the Waterford story, from start to finish you can learn the traditional ways of making Waterford Crystal to the modern methods used today.

The Viking Triangle

The Viking Triangle is Waterford’s cultural and heritage quarter. Meander through the narrow streets as you take in the tranquil atmosphere and explore over a thousand years of history. On your journey through the restored historical area of Waterford City look out for attractions such as Reginald’s Tower, the Medieval Museum and Christchurch Cathedral. MOUNT CONGREVE HOUSE & GARDENS

Only a 7-minute drive from the Viking Hotel Waterford, in Ireland’s Ancient East, is one of “the great gardens of the World”. Mount Congreve House was home to six generations of Congreves, built in 1760 by the locally celebrated architect John Roberts.

Comprised of approximately 70 acres of intensively planted woodland, a four acre walled garden and 16 kilometres of walkways. Planted on a slight incline overlooking the River Suir, Mount Congreve’s entire collection consists of over three thousand different trees and shrubs, more than two thousand Rhododendrons, six hundred Camellias, three hundred Acer cultivars, six hundred conifers, two hundred and fifty climbers and fifteen hundred herbaceous plants plus many more tender species contained in the Georgian glasshouse.

Theatre Royal

Known as ‘The People’s Theatre’, the Theatre Royal is a 220 years old Victorian theatre that is a premier venue for arts and music in the South-East of Ireland. Productions of local and international companies perform regularly and the theatre hosts the annual Waterford International Festival of Light Opera each spring.
