Waterford will welcome Gaelic games teams and supporters from around the world for the 2026 oneills.com GAA World Games from Monday, 13 July to Friday, 17 July.

The five-day celebration of Gaelic sport and culture will bring together 114 teams from Europe, the United States, Africa, South America, Canada, Britain, Australasia, Asia and the Middle East.

The 2026 GAA World Games in Waterford

The GAA World Games celebrate the growth of Gaelic games around the world, bringing international clubs together for several days of competition, culture and community.

The event begins with a parade through Waterford City and an opening ceremony on Monday, 13 July. Matches will then take place at SETU Waterford, with teams competing across Gaelic football, ladies’ football, hurling, camogie, handball and rounders.

The finals will be played at Walsh Park on Thursday, 16 July, followed by a closing ceremony in Waterford’s Apple Market on Friday, 17 July.

With thousands of players, coaches, families and supporters expected to visit, there will be a great atmosphere throughout Waterford during the week.
