Wooden Pestle
A lot of hard work and effort has gone into making our restaurant menus and atmosphere perfect for guests. It’s an ideal space to meet friends & family for a celebration or catch-up or an informal meeting with colleagues or business partners. The relaxed, friendly atmosphere is created by the beautiful space. Designed by renowned architect Hugh Wallace from RTE’s Home of the Year, the restaurant and bar were created with relaxation and style in mind, ensuring the comfort of our guests and staff at all times. Food is served right through the day and evening with plenty of options to suit all appetites. Our restaurant is open 7 days from 12:30pm to 9pm for lunch and dinner.
Breakfast
Our fresh breakfast buffet has something for everyone whether you want a light bite before a morning of meetings or a feast before enjoying a cycle on Waterford Greenway. Start with a choice of fruit juices, cereals, granola, yoghurts, fresh fruit or a bowl of delicious porridge with plenty of toppings. For a heartier option, select some items from our traditional cooked Irish breakfast buffet. You’ll find all of the usual suspects like grilled bacon, sausage, eggs, tomato, black & white pudding and beans. All are served with a choice of bread, toast and freshly brewed tea or coffee. We also have gluten-free options available. Breakfast is served from 7-10.30am Monday to Friday and 8-10.30am on weekends and bank holidays so you have plenty of time to enjoy a lie-in if you are a guest of the hotel.
Lunch

Whether you’re meeting business colleagues for an informal briefing or enjoying tea, scones and a catch-up with friends, we have a great lunch menu. We offer dishes from healthy soups and light salads to our mouth-watering roast of the day which will keep you going until dinnertime and beyond. If you’re not driving, why not pair your lunch with a refreshing beer or wine, you are on holiday after all! Dinner
Dinner in Viking Hotel Waterford’s in house restaurant is the main event. Our evening menu has been carefully chosen to ensure guests of all ages, tastes and preferences are catered for. You can enjoy local and international cuisine with something exciting to thrill your tastebuds. All of our dishes are cooked to order by our talented team of chefs in-house and served by a highly trained and friendly serving staff. Our restaurant is newly renovated to a very high standard and is stylish enough to start a girl’s night out, enjoy a team-building dinner or catch up at a family reunion. We can reserve space with prior notice and are happy to build a bespoke menu, especially for your groups. We also have a dedicated kids menu with so much more than chicken nuggets and chips (but we know how popular they are with little hands, so we’ve left them too!).
